SGB For PTSD
We are Asheville's sole practice offering Stellate Ganglion Block, we pioneer advanced treatments to address PTSD symptoms, striving to alleviate distress and promote wellness, enabling individuals to reclaim their lives.
A stellate ganglion block (SGB) is a brief outpatient procedure involving the injection of local anesthetic around the stellate ganglion nerve in the neck, which temporarily numbs the nerves controlling the 'fight or flight' response, providing immediate relief.
William E. Wade, Jr., DNP, CRNA
Dr. Wade is a Board-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA) with an additional Fellowship in Advanced Pain Management. He is an 8-year veteran of the U.S. Army (CPT), a graduate from Barry University Anesthesia Program and has received his Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Michigan. Dr. Wade has been a practicing CRNA for 20 years including a deployment to Landstuhl, Germany during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is an Adjunct Professor at Western Carolina University teaching Chronic Pain Management. Dr. Wade instituted an acute and chronic pain management service at a hospital in Michigan where he performed a variety of Interventional Pain Procedures using Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound.
